Solitude is not forever, and that is exactly why you need to use it well. Solitude is a gift—either given to you or given by you when you want to bring your attention to something else.

If you’re feeling lonely, consider yourself lucky. Be grateful. Your spirit is essentially giving you a gift, telling you: “Let’s take a beat. Come, child. Let’s take a break.”

What Solitude Does for You

Your first spiritual advantage in a period of solitude is that you are being given a break from being a shock absorber. Being a shock absorber is what kills your frequency.

When you’re alone, you’re not dealing with constant emotional stress, unnecessary conflicts, or negative behaviors from other people. Constant exposure to bad-faith people—narcissistic people, people who use you as a dumping ground—makes you a shock absorber. And shock absorption makes you weak. Over time, you become weaker and weaker.

This type of stuff contributes to autoimmune diseases and chronic illnesses. When you’re dealing with that, you’re tired, in a survival state, constantly stressed out. Being a shock absorber marries you to a state of constant deficit.

Your solitude is allowing you a break from absorbing everything—especially if it follows a long period of craziness and people bombarding you with negativity.

How to Use a Period of Solitude to Shift Your Frequency

How to Take Advantage of Solitude

The first thing you need to do in your solitude period is mastering impact in a way that benefits you. Impact reversal. When you impact your own life, it becomes very hard for others to make a catastrophic impact on it.

In solitude, there is less emotional abuse from others, meaning fewer emotional earthquakes for you, meaning more presence. With your presence, you can plan to impact your life in a larger-than-life way that makes it impossible for others to negatively impact you.

Build Your Impact

Your impact could be financial—filling out applications you’ve been postponing. It could be working on your emotional intelligence so you’re not eager to hop into relationships that don’t serve you. Impact compounds.

Don’t skip the small stuff. Reality is built from conviction after conviction. Nip those little bad habits in the bud by incrementally building on your habits throughout the day.

Strengthen Your Morning Ritual

Your morning needs to be bulletproof. What you worship first thing in the morning is exactly what will come to save you when you’re in the dumps. Keep your mind on a leash—don’t doom scroll first thing. These are impacts you are self-impacting.

Practice Emotional Execution

One of the ways you can impact your life during solitude is practicing sharpening your emotional execution in the moment—seamless delivery of how you feel without tearing your life apart.

Journal. Even if you rip it up at the end of the day, you need to be journaling in this solitude period, especially now that you feel alone.

Remember This

Loneliness is temporary. Being alone is temporary. You will have moments that are social and will demand your presence. Use this time wisely—to shift your frequency, strengthen your impact, and stop being a shock absorber for others.
